Guru Nanak National Sikh Museum is one of its kind in the world

Guru Nanak National Sikh Museum (GNNSM) will be India’s first bamboo-made, high-tech Sikh Museum which also showcases other religions, cultures and global historical context in tandem with the Sikh timeline. GNNSM will be one of its own kind of museum in the world and will provide a multitude of interactive, immersive and educational activities for the active involvement of its visitors.

In these ultra-modern times, people crave experiences which they can interact with and contribute to, in order to get the maximum cognitive benefit and personal impact. Some of the ways make this upcoming wonder a unique place on the earth includes; Beautifully designed thematic gardens of the Five Virtues (Sat – Truth, Santokh – Contentment, Daya – Compassion, Nimrata – Humility and Pyar – Love); Diorama walkthrough exhibition bringing the complete Sikh timeline to life, featuring replicas of more than 20,000 of historical artefacts including beautifully created manuscripts, paintings and drawings, exquisite examples of arms and armour, and many other mesmerising items from the times of the Guru Nanak, Guru Gobind Singh like utensils, foot wears, clothing (preserved to-date), and many more. 

For the first time ever, this museum will showcase a Water, light & sound show representing the story of the 31 Classical Musical Ragas present in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. GNNSM will be using 3D, 4D and 5D theatre shows to depict milestone moments of the Sikh timeline in immersive animated and live-action format. GNNSM will be using Gesture and Hologram displays, Drone shows, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality for the first time in any National Museum of India as immersive environments showing key historical events through the eyes of the observer. Museum will be holding multi-lingual Teaching sessions, guest lectures, workshops and discussion panels covering a wide range of historical,

cultural and educational topics by inviting world renown keynote speakers and motivational coaches. Museum will also have a dedicated Children’s play area with Sikh-related games and a dedicated section of learning resources such as books, toys, mini replicas and educational tools for sale at the Museum shop.

Being constructed and beautified using bamboo, rammed earth, glass and other natural, sustainable materials, the museum will be an environmentally friendly attraction. Sustainability is an ever-growing need and trend in the modern world, as global communities become more conscious of protecting our precious mother earth. The museum will be built on a grand scale with a vision of becoming an industry leader of sustainable museums. It will be respectfully built around its environment; its design and architecture will blend in with the peaceful, natural surroundings of the hills and mountains in which it is located.
