Guru Nanak Gurpurab Celebrations

01 Dec 2023

Mini Gurdwara Guru Nanak Dwaar, Pali, Raigad celebrated the Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Jee, the first Guru of the Sikhs.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee came into this world in 1469 and taught humanity about oneness and universal brotherhood. Guru Jee gave the following three golden rules which all followers implement to live a holy, happy and healthy life:
1. Naam japo (Meditate on the creator’s name)
2. Kirat karo (Earn an honest living)
3. Vand ke chhako (Share with others)

On this divine occasion, Sangat from the UK, Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana took part in the two-day event held at Pali, arranged by Dr Baba Karandeep Singh Jee (from England, UK) and the respective team of volunteers. The special kirtan and naam jaap program at the site of the Worldโ€™s first Bamboo Gurdwara Sahib in Bharje (Raigad) was a mesmerising and soothing experience. The first ever Nagar Kirtan (Shobha Yatra) in the holy town of Pali was a fully packed event where prasad was distributed to over 4,500 families and onlookers. Sikh martial arts Gatka was demonstrated on the streets of Pali and naam jaap was done by all attendees through the Shobha Yatra.

Guru Nanak Dwaar Foundation team and Sikh families of Pali wholeheartedly thank the district and tehsil authorities, and the team of local volunteers including Kohli family of Borivali, Sahni family of Andheri, Dhingra family of Andheri, Grover family of Delhi, Chugh family of Delhi and many others who made Pali’s first ever Parkash Purab celebrations special and memorable for the sangat. We are very thankful to the Pracheen Pali Mandir authorities who provided much needed support and showed real brotherhood, representing the true Indian spirit.

Mini Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dwaar, Pali distributes free langar daily from 12-2 pm, serving freshly cooked meas to the local tribal residents, migrant workers, tourists, taxi drivers, bus drivers, truck drivers, commuters, security personnel, forest workers and construction site workers from near and far.
